History of Tema Technical Institute
The Tema Technical Institute was established in 1964 as a Training Centre for the Textile Industry. In 1974 new courses, Tailoring and Photography were introduced and the name changed to the present one. In 1986 more courses in Engineering were added. Printing, Carpentry, and Joinery courses were also added. Blocklaying and Concreting courses also started in 1997. In 2005, the Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) started whilst Motor Vehicle, Mechanics began in the year 2006. Plumbing was established in 2008 and the latest to be added to courses run is Catering.
