History of Sogakope Senior High

Sogakope Senior High was established in 1961. Its foundation stone was laid on 5th November, 1961 by Honourable F. Y. Asare, Member of Parliament and Regional Commissioner, Volta Region at the time. Sogakope Senior High, popularly called SOGASCO is one of the Secondary Schools established by the Ghana Educational Trust soon after the independence with funds built from the profits made by the Cocoa Marketing Board. Expansion of Secodary School education was one of the main achievements of the First Republican Government led by Ghana's first President Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah.

The school can be located at the south-eastern part of the Sogakofe Township on a 319.76 acre land as evidenced in the Executive Instrument (E.I.48) of the State Lands Act, 1962.
