Salvation Army Senior High in Akim Wenchi was founded in September 1991 as a Day/Boarding coeducational Public /Mission Institution. It is located on the premises of the defunct Ghana Consolidated Diamond Company which was bequeathed to the chiefs and people of Akim. The Salvation Army Church adopted the school and put up some bungalows and classroom blocks.
