History of Nkoranman Senior High
The school was founded by Mr Asiedu Nketiah on November 4, 1989 in fulfilment of a promise he made when he ran as the first assembly member of the Abourso Adantase Electoral Area of Seikwa with a student population of 85, made up of 71 boys and 14 girls.
According to him, he obtained a temporary appointment to teach at the Nafana Secondary School at Sampa which was established through the initiative of the people. He explained that the opportunity helped him to learn more about the processes involved in establishing and running a community day secondary school.
“When I promised to establish a secondary school for Seikwa within 12 months of my election to the Wenchi District Assembly, therefore, I clearly knew what I was talking about,” he stated in his book titled, “My experiments with community development – The case study of Nkoranman Secondary School.”
The school was started in a maize warehouse of the Nkoranman Rural Bank at the Seikwa Weekly Market under an interim management committee, headed by Mr Andrew Tawiah with Messrs J.A Nketiah, C.A Duah, Fred Annan and Reverend J.E. Dwommir as members on September 10, 1989.
