Elite College, obviously the leading private Senior High School and undoubtedly the fastest developing Senior High School in Ghana, was originally established as a Remedial School in October, 2005.
Encouraged by the outstanding performance of the first and second batches of the products in the November / December West African Senior School Certificate Examinations, the Director sought approval and registered the school with the Ghana Education Service as a Private Senior High School. Since then, the development of the school into a first class Senior High School has been the main focus of the school management team.
With a mere student population of 250 students in 2005, the current student population stands at about 3000. The teaching staff strength of seventy five is a blend of energetic and dedicated young graduates and strong, seasoned and experienced retired educationists with several years of teaching experience in their various fields of study and managerial / administrative skills to ensure quality education delivery and smooth running of the school.
We have 32 non - teaching staff members who man the various sections of the school's administration.
The location of the school adds to the advantages it has over the other sister private schools in Ghana.
By its proximity to KNUST the school is able to attract PhD holders to teach the school. Most of the teachers hold their second degrees and only a few have first degrees. What is amazing is the fact that many of the teachers are seasoned examiners. It is no wonder that our students' performances in the examinations have been outstanding over the years.
The College does not only engage in academic work but also asserts itself in the fields of sports and games, social and religious as well as moral activities. We indeed concentrate all our efforts in ensuring the holistic development of our students.
Our students come from all parts of the country and even beyond the boundaries of Ghana. We do accept students from all races and of various religious backgrounds. The current move to ensure strict adherence to religious, moral and disciplinary measures has translated into high academic achievements of the students
