In 1983, Upper Manya Krobo had 48 Middle Schools but no second cycle institution thereby making higher education inaccessible to many pupils in the District. To rectify this anomaly, the Asesewa Community Day Agricultural Secondary Commercial School with fifteen (15) students and Mr. C K Narh as the first Headmaster was started. The School started operating the boarding system in September 2005.
