History of Abuakwa State College
Abuakwa State College was established by three elders of the Methodist Church at Asafo-Akyem, with the royal consent and financial backing from the then Okyenhene, Nana Sir Ofori Attah. It was formed as a preparatory institution to prepare Ghanaian students who wanted to sit the then Junior Cambridge Examination. It was relocated to Kibi in 1967 to enable all more students especially those from Abuakwa to enroll in the school. Asafo Abuakwa State College is the only high school in the Eastern Region of Ghana with Royal Lineage! ..A pride shared with the people of Akyem Abuakwa. The products of the Abuakwa State College are referred to as YAANOM [Abuscodians].
