History of Abetifi Presby Senior High
Abetifi Secondary was formed and managed by Abetifi citizens, as the first Secondary School to be established on the Kwahu Ridge on 6th February, 1956, with about fifty (50) students and two (2) teachers. It started as a private co-educational institution.
In 1963, it became necessary for the school to enter into partnership with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana for the Administration of the school. The school was therefore renamed Abetifi Presbyterian Secondary School (APSEC).
In 1965, the then Government of the country took over the school. In 1978 the school which was initially housed in a temporary building in the heart of the town moved to its present site. The first Headmaster was Mr. Odoi Sykes 1956.
The vision of the school is to implement the pre-tertiary aspect of the goals of the Ministry of Education in such a way as to achieve high quality education and training that could improve the manpower needs of the country.
