Universities are institutions that offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in a specified field of study. They offer undergraduate programs that lead's a student towards a master’s degree or a doctorate. Sometimes, they have programs that allows you to get both undergraduate and graduate degree in a shorter period of time.
Difference Between Undergraduate and Post-Graduate/Graduate.
To clear the air about this little confusion that goes on in the minds of new students or applicants, let's give a brief distinction between the two terms. First let us talk about undergraduate. Undergraduate programmes literally means programmes or courses that are first learnt by a student before they complete university. So therefore undergraduate programmes are awarded with Bachelor's Degree at the end of the duration.
Post-Graduate or Graduate programmes are those that one may applied after gaining a Bachelor's degree. In this case the person had completed an undergraduate programme earlier, people applied for these programmes for a higher educational certificate be it Masters degree, Doctors degree among others.
There are several universities in the country which grants various types of higher level educational certificates that are acceptable in many working sectors. The university may practices various academic fields but may be notable for a field with higher academic excellence.
