St. Margaret Mary Senior High School was established by the St. Margaret Mary Parish, Dansoman, as a co-educational private day school in October 1996. The official opening of the school was performed by Hon. Kwabena Kyere Deputy Minister of Education on 24th May, 1997. In September 1998, there was the physical movement of the school from St. Bernadette Soubirous compound to the first uncompleted building at the new site. In September 2005 the Board of Governors, with the blessing of the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra, graciously allowed the school to be absorbed into the Public school system.
